We are always looking for talented waiters/ bartenders to join our fun, hardworking team! 

Kanteen25 is an 800m² restaurant in the center of Amsterdam with a French international cuisine. Our boutique hotel Rooms25 with 31 rooms is situated upstairs from the restaurant. We are located on the waterfront of the Marine Establishment, a peaceful oasis to escape the craziness of the city.

We base the choices that we make as a company on the following four pillars: local, low waste, seasonal and social impact. We are very proud of our Cooks25 inhouse education program that we setup for refugees with help from the Gemeente Amsterdam.

  • You set-up an ongoing program of events with and for our community.
  • You are the eyes and ears of our community and will be the to go to contact person in terms of events.
  • You communicate with clients and guests on the planning of events and meetings.
  • Guest contact gives you energy, the restaurant floor is your base and events are your second focus.
  • You are present on the restaurant floor and lead by setting an example.
  • Together with the restaurant manager you’ll monitor labor costs, seek out efficiency improvement and improve service/ product quality.
  • Preparing event information sheets, communicate with other departments and doing the necessary orders.
  • You are the link between your team and the other departments to make events go as smooth as possible.
  • You keep the overview on the financial side of events and have an eye for detail.
  • You set up packages to sell and have an eye for what the client wants and how to get to realistic margins. 
  • You know how to manage a team, are used to all the ins and outs of events planning and can function under pressure.
  • You will be part of the whole process and organize big events from the first contact with the client to the onsite execution.
  • You are the connecting factor that brings together our restaurant, events and hotel.

Do you have a passion for cooking and are you looking for a new opportunity in the kitchen? Do you already have experience in the kitchen? Then we are looking for you!

The Chef de Partie has an important role in delivering outstanding experiences to our guests in our food outlets. Every day is a different day, but your main tasks in this function will be:

• Making sure that the food we deliver is prepared in accordance with our hygiene rules;
• Taking care that the food is presented in a good way and has high quality at all times;
• Preparation and service of meals for the breakfast, lunch, dinner;
• Being involved in menu creation for events and our restaurant;
• Working effectively within our kitchen team to ensure we deliver a high level of service to our guests;
• Independently running a partie and supporting the Jr Sous Chef, Sous Chef, and Head Chef;
• Supervising Demi Chef de Partie and apprentices;
• Follow the rules regarding health, safety and hygiene;
• Safeguarding stock rotation via the FIFO system;
• Communicating with our Food and Beverage team members.

We are looking for someone who…

• Has completed culinary school (MBO 4 or equivalent);
• Has several years of experience as (Demi) Chef de Partie;
• Has strong managerial abilities and enjoys motivating the team;
• Has the commitment to provide top-level service every day;
• Is an enthusiastic person who is guest-oriented;
• Has great communication skills;
• Is flexible to respond quickly and positively to a variety of work situations;
• Is enthusiastic to be part of a winning team;
• Is fluent in English, Dutch is a preference;
• Is available part or full time (38 hours per week) with a flexible schedule;
